Scene 1

A Tiny Surprise

Coloring scene: Mila the hedgehog holds a small seed in her open paw and points to it beside an empty patch of soil in a sunny meadow.

One spring morning, Mila the little hedgehog found a seed beside the meadow path.

It was small enough to fit in her paw, with a point at one end.

Mila turned it over carefully. It did not sparkle or sing. It looked very ordinary.

“What could you become?” she wondered.

She imagined a flower as bright as the sun, with petals waving in the breeze.

Nearby was a bare patch of earth where nothing was growing yet.

“You could have a home there,” Mila told the seed. “I’ll look after you.”

She carried it gently across the grass, already dreaming of a little garden.

Scene 2

A Cozy Bed

Coloring scene: Mila kneels to place a seed into a small hole while Pip the rabbit holds a garden trowel, with a watering can nearby.

Pip the rabbit hopped over with a small garden trowel.

“That looks like a sunflower seed!” he said. “Shall we plant it?”

Together, they made a little hole in the sunny patch of earth.

Mila placed the seed inside. Pip helped her cover it gently with soil.

Then they gave it a little water from Pip’s watering can.

“There,” said Mila. “A cozy bed, a drink and plenty of sunshine.”

She leaned close to the ground. “See you tomorrow, little flower!”

Pip smiled. “Growing takes longer than that. Let’s give it time.”

Scene 3

Waiting Is Hard

Coloring scene: Mila sits with her chin in her paw beside a watering can and an empty patch of soil, while Nino the snail smiles at her.

The next morning, Mila hurried back. There was no flower.

The morning after that, the earth looked just the same.

After three days, Mila sat beside the watering can and sighed.

“Perhaps my seed has forgotten to grow. Should I dig it up and check?”

Nino the snail slid over slowly. “Leave it tucked in safely,” he said. “Some growing happens where we cannot see it.”

“Under the ground?” asked Mila.

“Yes! A seed needs time to make roots. You can keep caring for it while you wait.”

Mila took a deep breath. She would give the soil a little water when it needed it, and give her seed more time.

Scene 4

Two Tiny Leaves

Coloring scene: Mila kneels with her paws under her chin and Nino the snail watches a small seedling with two leaves growing from the soil.

About a week after planting, Mila noticed a little bump in the earth.

She knelt down. A tiny shoot was peeking out!

Two small leaves opened above the soil, like paws saying hello.

“Nino, come and see!” Mila called. “It was growing all along!”

The snail smiled. “Your little seed has been busy.”

Mila wanted to hug the seedling, but she knew it was delicate.

Instead, she watched it quietly and drew its two leaves in her notebook.

“I don’t need to hurry you,” she whispered. “I can notice how you change.”

Scene 5

A Visitor for the Flower

Coloring scene: Mila points happily at Bea the bee flying beside a tall sunflower with broad leaves, a round center and large petals.

Over the next few weeks, the stem grew taller and new leaves unfolded.

Mila and Pip checked the soil and watered it when it was dry. Sunshine and gentle rain helped too.

One day, a round bud opened into a beautiful sunflower.

Mila looked up at its golden petals. “You really do look like the sun!”

A little buzzing sound came closer. It was Bea the bee.

“What a lovely flower,” said Bea. “It has nectar for me to sip.”

Mila stepped back so Bea could visit in peace.

“I thought I was growing a flower just for me,” Mila said. “But my little garden is helping someone else too!”

Scene 6

Seeds to Share

Coloring scene: Mila offers Pip a bowl of seeds while he holds one seed, with Nino the snail below and Bea the bee beside a mature sunflower with seeds in its center.

Later in the summer, the sunflower’s head began to dry and fill with seeds.

When they were ready, Mila and Pip collected some in a small bowl and left others for the birds.

Mila held out the bowl. “Take a few, Pip. We can plant them next spring.”

Pip picked up one seed. Nino smiled, and Bea buzzed above them.

“This began with just one tiny seed,” Mila said. “Now there are enough to share.”

She remembered the empty patch, the long wait and the first two leaves.

She had not made the flower grow faster. She had given it what it needed, a little at a time.

Mila tucked the seeds away for spring. Her garden was resting, and a new adventure was waiting inside every seed.

The End.

“Small things grow with care, patience and time.”
