About this activity
Arrange six rounded pieces into a robot, choose its pose and glue it to a background. Give each button a helpful job, such as watering plants or finding lost socks.
How to do this activity
- Print on A4 or Letter in portrait, using Fit to page with all four borders visible. Use light card if your printer supports it, coloring pencils, child scissors and a glue stick. An adult helps with cutting. Color before cutting; leave glue areas uncolored.
- Cut the six pieces around their outside edges. Keep the eyes, mouth and buttons as decorations.
- On a spare sheet, place the head above the body, the narrow arms at the sides and the wider legs underneath. Try a waving or dancing pose before gluing.
- Glue the limbs first with their ends slightly under the body, then add the body and head. Draw a place for your robot to visit.
Tips for parents and teachers
- The top row is a key, not a piece to assemble: thick outside lines are cut lines, dashed lines are folds and diagonal hatching marks glue. Thin lines inside the pieces are decorations. The page border is not part of the model.
- Give each button a helpful job, such as watering plants or finding lost socks.
